Sandwich, Barnstable, Chatham & Provincetown
We FINALLY got to visit Cape Cod! This has been a dream of mine, personally, for years now and it was so exciting that Tony, myself, AND my mom were able to come together while on a business trip! My mom’s birthday is September 1st and Cape Cod has always been a place that she has wanted to visit, so because Emma & Tyler’s destination wedding was just two weeks before, we asked her if for her birthday, if she would want to come with us and she said yes!
The first thing we did when we hopped off the plane was drive to Cafe Chew – an adorable breakfast place right in Sandwich where we were staying. It was just a quick drive from The Dan’l Webster Inn, an inn that we were staying at right down the street from Emma & Tyler’s church where they exchanged their vows! Afterwards, we walked next door to Sundance Clothing – a boutique that also has a shop in Chatham. We met the sweetest lady who gave us tons of tips on where the locals go – and to basically steer clear of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard because it is basically the same thing as Chatham and Provincetown, without the extra markup and having to take an expensive ferry ride over to the islands. We listened to her and the next day drove from Sandwich all the way to the tip of Cape Cod to Provincetown!
Our first stop on our road trip to Provincetown was the church in Sandwich that Emma & Tyler were to be married in. It’s called the First Church of Christ and it is one of the most photographed churches and was even on Elvis Presley’s album, “How Great Thou Art”! We definitely understand why because it was GORGEOUS!!
After that, we drove to Chatham, driving through a bunch of small and adorable New England towns. Chatham was STUNNING. It had all of that 1950s charm, right on the ocean, with the nicest people! We walked around and did some window shopping before we set off for Provincetown, which is at the end of Cape Cod.
We walked along the beach at Race Point beach, ate dinner at The Lobster Pot, and finally watched the sunset over Herring Cove beach!
