A Charlottesville Mountaintop Engagement

September 7, 2018

Tara & Travis

I’d be lying if I had said that I wasn’t nervous about yesterday’s engagement session. It’s been hot as all get out here in Southern Maryland and I was so nervous that this engagement session was going to be a sweat sesh! But once we got to the top of the mountains for this Charlottesville mountaintop engagement session for Tara and Travis, the temperatures had dropped at least 20 degrees!

It was crazy because when we chose this location, I honestly forgot what overlook it was that Tony and I had taken OUR OWN engagement session at – but we ended up finding it and just had to stop and take some portraits at our favorite overlook! We just loved our engagement session so much that we had to recreate a few. 😉

I was SO excited to see Tara again and actually meet Travis in person! I had met Tara years ago when she was a bridesmaid in Joanie and John’s wedding, and I just loved her from the start! She’s a very talented calligraphy artist and fashion blogger – so it’s super easy to see why Travis has ALLL the heart eyes for this girl.

Tara & Travis actually met through their parents! Travis’s uncle is best friends with Tara’s dad and his aunt is best friends with her mom. They met when Travis was 7 and Tara was 5 at Travis’s grandparents lake house in Lake Gaston, but then they reset in September 2015 and started dating! Is that not the cutest love story or what?? And now next year, they plan on tying the knot back at Lake Gaston where it all started. No, this is not a Nicolas Sparks novel, this is real life!!

Tara and Travis, we are so excited for your wedding day, and all of the amazing details that we know you will be putting towards it to make it sentimental and sweet. We’re so happy for you both and can’t wait for next October!!
