The intriguing part is that Rothy’s are made from recycled water bottles. The company clearly focuses on comfort and sustainability. The goal as stated direct from their site was to “create an alternative, versatile shoe: one with the ease of a sneaker but with the polish of a feminine flat. And do it with low-waste, low- impact materials, hand-assembled for high quality and durability.” And I think they nailed it. They also have a recycling facility when you are ready to replace a pair, fully completing their task of low waste.
Right from the box these shoes were comfortable. No need for any adjustment or breaking in period. I wore them immediately for a full day of work without suffering from any discomfort. I actually felt like I was wearing a pair of slippers all day.
