Kadie & Patrick
Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day – a perfect day for Kadie and Patrick to say “I do!” at the St. Mary’s City State House! It’s so funny, as we were driving down to the State House, Tony and I remembered that we ALMOST chose the State House to be our wedding location! It is SO beautiful, yall! And Kadie & Patrick knew it – that’s why they (and a few of their friends too!) chose this beautiful slice of heaven to invite their closest family and friends to witness them exchange vows and become husband and wife!
In the morning, getting ready, Kadie showed me this beautiful portrait of her grandmother and great-grandmother on her grandmother’s wedding day in the 1940’s and then told me that she had the EXACT glass “mirror” that her grandmother was holding and if we could recreate the picture! So, of course, we had to because how special is that?!
Speaking of special, let me tell you how small of a world that we live in here in Southern Maryland. I know that we always joke that everybody knows everybody, but seriously, it’s true. As we were talking that morning, getting ready, Tony found out that Patrick’s parents lived in the SAME neighborhood that Tony grew up in! Not just the same neighborhood, but the same STREET! And Patrick’s mom went to church with me growing up! Isn’t that just wild?!
Kadie had JUST graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland so this was even extra special for her because the St. Mary’s City State House and surrounding grounds are ON the campus! Kadie & Patrick decided to share their first look on the second story of the State House building, completely quiet and intimate. It was so touching to see Kadie so happy to see Patrick – and Patrick just couldn’t take his eyes off of her!
