Selling Our First Home on Ravine Drive

Today is the day! Our first home together is officially on the market! The cleaning company came in to do a final sweep through of the floors and we are out the door. Selling our first home has been exciting, stressful, and a little bittersweet.

Tony first bought this house four years ago on his own as a foreclosure. He was 23 and had every intention on flipping this home to make money. The hall bathroom used to be BLUE. BLUE tile. BLUE shower. BLUE sink. BLUE EVERYTHING. And the master bath was PINK. EQUALLY AS PINK. After many years of hard work, many colors of paint on the walls, new siding and shutters, landscaping, you name it… it’s ready to be given to a new owner. So much hard work and love has been put into these four walls and that’s why it’s so bittersweet to sell it!

I wanted to go ahead and give you a little virtual tour! This is the front of the house! As you can see, we just recently paved the driveway, put on new siding, shutters, and front door. When you walk into the front door, you walk up the stairs to the BEAUTIFUL open floor plan that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen!

Tony built this stunning island in the center of the kitchen which I think is going to be so wonderful for a family who loves to entertain! It’s huge! I’m thinking Super Bowl parties! Have the game on that TV which mounts to the custom stone wall (that Tony also built!) with snacks and food all around the island! If you’re a party animal and your house gets a little crowded because you decided to invite the entire neighborhood and the neighborhood across the street, people can overflow into the AMAZING sunroom and back deck! You’ll see that in a second – it’s my favorite part of the whole house! We also upgraded all of the appliances including the double oven, and the counters to granite!

Then, you walk down the hall to the master bedroom. It has a huge closet that was able to fit all of our clothes (which is shocking because I own a ton of clothes). It has a cute all white, marble master bath with a custom tiled walk in shower floor.

These two rooms are directly across the hall from the master bath which so great for if you have kids or plan to have kids because they will be so close to you in case of an emergency! They both have huge closets too! The room at the end of the hall is the room with floor discoloration. The previous owners before Tony had ruined the color of the floor, and even after Tony had it professionally refinished, the discoloration was there to stay. But we just threw an area rug over the floor and you would never know it. Plus, the area rug was a great way to jazz up the room and make it feel cozy for guests!

Also, in the hall, is a hall bathroom which is pretty huge! Tony bought these eclectic light fixtures and we paired it with a more glamorous mirror to mix some masculine and feminine decor. I love that vanity that he chose too! You can really store a lot under the sink.

Once you walk down the stairs, you get to the newly and completely finished basement. It’s SO spacious and a perfect place to have a man cave. 🙂 It has a great wood burning stove which kept Tony and I super warm in the winter and our oil bill down! I remember so many nights when Tony first asked me to move in when he and I would go downstairs and I would watch him cut wood and put it in the fire. I thought it was so manly of him haha! There is also a half bath that comes off of this great room so you don’t have to go back upstairs to use the restroom.

Down the hall from the great room is probably the biggest laundry room that I have ever seen in my life. If we were to have stayed here, I had so many plans to turn this into the Taj Mahal of laundry rooms. I’m talking chandeliers, the whole nine yards. There’s a side door off of the laundry room that leads into the HUGE 4th bedroom. I mean this thing is humongous. We used to have one of Tony’s groomsmen live in this bedroom and he even sectioned off half of it to be a little living room! I’m telling you – the possibilities are endless!3880 Ravine Drive

Off the side of the house is a one car garage which is great for when it’s raining and you don’t want to get wet, you just park in your garage! Or snow. Or this dang summer heat that takes your breath away as you walk out the front door. I love that it has windows so it doesn’t feel like a dungeon. Plus, the exposed brick! I just love exposed brick! Now for my favorite part!! The sunroom and back deck!!

Did I mention it’s on 2 acres! And most of it is in the back yard! Our yard goes from the street that we live on to the street BEHIND us! We used to burn a ton of bon fires there in the back yard. Here’s  our listing on Realtor.com:
