The Wilkinson’s
If y’all know anything about D.C., you know that sunrise is the best time to go. While the rest of the city is sleeping in, you get any place essentially to yourself, with the exception of those early morning joggers. When Kaleigh said that she wanted to have her family portraits done at the Jefferson Memorial while her family was in town for the Out Of The Darkness walk, I was so excited! But the morning of the session, we found that it was completely undergoing construction and well, scaffolding isn’t really the vibe we were going for here. So we changed the location last minute to have their family session at The National Mall, including the Lincoln Memorial with the Washington Monument in the background! It ended up being the perfect location because that was even the starting point for the walk the day before.
November is when it started to get pretty chilly here in the D.C. area, but you wouldn’t guess it from these portraits! Kaleigh and her family braved the chill in the area and pulled out their model faces – you would have thought it was 75 and sunny! I am absolutely in love with this group of people. You can tell right away that they are loving, kind, caring, and very close knit. I felt like I had known them for years! Take a look at a few of our favorites!
