An Engagement Session at Great Falls

November 1, 2017

Heidi & Andrew

Our last fall engagement session at Great Falls! Yesterday, we met up with Heidi and Andrew in Northern Maryland for their engagement session! They had both been to the falls before and fell in love with it, so we, of course, had to use it as the perfect backdrop. Even with some CRAZY D.C. traffic, we managed to shoot until there was no light left in the park. The weather was absolutely perfect and we certainly took total advantage of it!

Now, for the love story. Heidi and Andrew actually met on plentyoffish.com! Andrew was on other sites and looking for a serious relationship while Heidi had just gotten out of a relationship and was honestly just looking for some fun (and free dinners haha!)! But when Heidi met Andrew, she immediately knew that this was something real. She said that it felt like they had known each other for years and were best friends almost immediately! Love at first sight!! They went dinner in Gaithersburg on St. Patrick’s Day 2013 for their first date where they walked around the lake and shopping center after they finished eating. It was so easy to talk to each other and Andrew wouldn’t leave without planning a time for their second date!!

A few years and many amazing memories went by, and Andrew knew that it was time to ask the girl of his dreams to marry him. It was summer 2016, and they were vacationing in Palm Coast, Florida. That day, they went to St. Augustine and toured the lighthouse, trails, and beaches. They went home to get ready for dinner at a STUNNING restaurant called, Caps. It is right on the bay and has the most beautiful sunsets – VERY romantic. As Heidi was getting ready, Andrew was sort of rushing her! She knew that they had to get there for the sunset but they didn’t take reservations. As they sat down, they ordered drinks and Andrew suggested they take the drinks on the dock and watch the sunset. Andrew held both of her hands and looked into her eyes and started to propose! He had memorized a speech he planned ahead of time. We can just imagine that it was so sweet! He got down on one knee and opened the box. Heidi was jumping up and down!! And then the whole restaurant clapped and cheered for them!! Everything was perfect! There was champagne waiting for them at the table when they got back, and a waitress even caught the whole thing on camera! It is only fitting that they would choose Herrington On The Bay as their wedding venue!

Here are a few of our favorites from their session last night!
