A Cozy Engagement on the Beach

October 17, 2018

Megan & Matthew

This week has been the week for all engagement sessions! Just between yesterday, today, and tomorrow, we will be photographing FOUR engagement session for our 2019 couples!! We couldn’t be more excited about it because this weather has been PERFECTION. Crisp, cool, gorgeous sunlight, all of the things that we just adore about fall. We started off the engagement streak with Megan and Matthew with their cozy engagement on the beach in Calvert County!

Megan & Matthew met at the St. Marys County Public Schools New Teacher Orientation. They both are Fine Art teachers – Matt teaches band and strings and Meg teaches art! They were just in the rotations of multiple new teacher meetings and Matthew thought that since they were the only two fresh-out-of-college new teachers in Fine Arts that they should stick together. Flash forward one year, and now they’re ENGAGED!

Because they are both teachers, they have an awesome set up with their summer time off, both being off for a few months! Megan’s father and uncle rented a cabin in Yellowstone National Park and they invited Megan and Matthew to come. Matthew thought that rather than just going for the one week why not make a big trip out of it?! So for THE WHOLE MONTH of July, they were in Megan’s Rav4, just traveling around to all of the national parks! They went to Niagara Falls, Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Glacier National Park, and then finally to Yellowstone National Park. But Matthew had a trick up his sleeve.. while they were in Glacier National Park, they were camping right on the edge of Lake McDonald where he got down on one knee and asked Megan if she would spend the rest of her life with him, and of course, she said YES! TOTAL movie love story and we are LIVING for it! Can’t wait to watch these two love birds say “I do” in June next year!
