I don’t know about yall, but I have been trying REALLY hard to stay positive and optimistic during these trying times. I can’t even tell you how many times I have sang “MYYYYY CORONA!” at the top of my lungs to the tune of The Knack’s – My Sharona. Yes. It’s gone there here at the Costola Cottage. But you know what makes me super happy? Going through all of our recent engagement sessions and getting them up on the blog! So beware, we have a few coming your way to give you some beautiful views of the outdoors during this time that you are quarantined in your home for who knows how long. And first up? Erica and Dustin, of course! These two have a fairytale love story and THE PROPOSAL HOLY COW. It’s a STORY to go along perfectly with their cherry blossom engagement session here in Southern Maryland.
From the words of Erica herself:
“We met at Echostage in DC on December 26th, 2018. We both decided last minute to buy tickets to the Tiesto concert that night with friends. Within a few minutes of conversation we realized we were from the same hometown and had mutual connections. Later, we even realized we matched on a dating app months before! We have spent the last year sharing our love of margaritas, concerts, and our puppy, Willow!
Dustin planned his proposal months in advance at one of our favorite artists’ (Chris Lane) concerts in Silver Spring, MD. He spoke to the tour manager and came up with a detailed plan. The tour manager approached us and told us that they pick a couple every show to watch a few of the songs side stage. I fell for every trick they threw at me! As Chris Lane played the song he wrote when proposing to his now wife, he called Dustin onto the stage. Dustin had practiced his speech for weeks and did so well proposing in front of thousands of people. We have some fun videos to document it as well! 🙂 Our families were all in the audience so that was a special moment. I had NO idea about any of it!! Within a week and a half we have set the date and venue for August 15th, 2020 and we are so excited to celebrate our love with friends and family!”
What did I say?! Dustin pulled ALL of the tricks out of his sleeve for that one! And now the countdown is on for their wedding in August at The Running Hare Vineyard!
